ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
AFS Vivre Sans Frontière is a French non-for-profit organization and one of the members of the AFS network. AFS France has over 1000 active volunteers across the country. Its mission is to encourage intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding for a more just and peaceful world. AFS France is looking for 2 volunteers to assist our diverse Intercultural Learning projects as well as our organizational development efforts. Our volunteers will organize and run workshops about intercultural learning, discuss themes like stereotypes and discrimination, intercultural communication and the European identity. They will be in contact with schools and other partners and they will communicate internally within the AFS network and externally about all their educational actions and about AFS’ online intercultural programs. They will also work with AFS volunteers to develop competencies and activities (e.g. analyzing needs, follow up), help to coordinate training sessions and statutory events.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Learning opportunities: online linguistic support, intercultural preparation on an online platform with videos, quizzes, forums and virtual sessions (Global Competence Certificate), on-site training about intercultural learning and on how to conduct trainings and non-formal workshops, Youthpass to value the competences developed
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
Good verbal and written knowledge of French is necessary; Good knowledge of English will be appreciated; Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and principles of AFS; Experience and/or special interest in intercultural learning and active global citizenship education; At ease with talking in public as well as conducting virtual conferences; Microsoft Office skills; Enthusiastic personality and willingness to learn; Previous long or short-term volunteer experience will be valued
