ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Monitoring, identification, compilation and analysis of Spanish, European and international initiatives that innovate in the field of social care for the most vulnerable groups in society, mainly through the use of technology and aimed at achieving better social inclusion and equality of opportunities for homeless people, immigrants and refugees, children at risk of exclusion, young people with mental health disorders, people with intellectual disabilities, elderly people in a situation of loneliness, etc. The activity will consist mainly of gathering information on the initiatives found, establishing contact with them, exchanging documentation; organize networking sessions; and suggest possible joint actions.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will be offered a room to stay, which will have been hired in advance. Sharing housing with other volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps residing in the city of Barcelona will be prioritized. For local transport, a pass for urban public transport and for trips by bicycle will be offered. Regarding maintenance, they will be recommended the best options and stores for healthy breakfast and dinner, and for meals they will be offered the foundation’s dining room where they can eat during working days with the rest of the professionals and volunteers.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The volunteer will receive support and training related to the tasks to be performed, as well as supervision and guidance from experienced staff, as well as support for the learning process and the determination and documentation of learning outcomes, through the Youthpass tool. Regarding the knowledge of the language, depending on the level of Spanish, you will be offered the possibility of expanding your linguistic training with a Catalan course or a Catalan language accompaniment by a local volunteer.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
Young boy or girl entrepreneur, creative and motivated to discover other cultures, learn other languages and collaborate in innovative social projects that use technology to help improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups in society. Will be valued: sensitivity and interest in social problems, motivation and concern in technological matters, good knowledge of English, and to have previously carried out social volunteering activities in his/her country of origin.
